Missionaries Dean and Julie Blood moved to Juneau, AK, in the winter of 2009 to serve at Bethany Baptist Church. They had previously served in Peters Creek, AK, from 1997 to 2009 where God used them to successfully plant an independent Baptist church.
Meeting in the garage of a house for the next two years, Bethany Baptist grew and began to draw plans to build its first church building. Through much prayer and the support of several churches, Bethany Baptist Church broke ground in May 2013 to build its first church building. The church’s name was changed to Riverside Baptist Church at the dedication service because of its new location on Riverside Drive near the banks of the Mendenhall River.
Today, Riverside Baptist Church continues under the Bloods’ ministry and will eventually, by God’s grace, become self-supporting. We invite you to join us as we strive to serve the Lord here in Juneau!
