Missionaries Dean and Julie Blood have been with Baptist Mid-Missions since 1992. They moved to Juneau, AK, in 2009 to serve at Bethany Baptist Church. They had previously served in Peters Creek, AK, from 1997 to 2009 where God used them to successfully plant an independent Baptist church.

Meeting in the garage of a house for the next two years, Bethany Baptist grew and began to draw plans to build its first church building.  Through much prayer and the support of several churches, Bethany Baptist Church broke ground in May 2013 to build its first church building.  The church’s name was changed to Riverside Baptist Church at the dedication service because of its new location on Riverside Drive near the banks of the Mendenhall River.

Today, Riverside Baptist Church continues under the Bloods’ ministry and will eventually, by God’s grace, become self-supporting. We invite you to join us as we strive to serve the Lord here in Juneau!

Paul and Stephanie Sprenger are serving alongside the Bloods as missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions. They have been with Baptist Mid-Missions since 2017. Their sending church is Community Baptist Church in Ankeny, Iowa.

Paul has a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Religion from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s Science in Civil Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy. Stephanie has a Master of Arts in Religion from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Allen College.

They have lived in Juneau for over 12 years and have two daughters.

Come join us as we exalt Jesus Christ as our Savior, equip each other through studying God’s Word, and encourage one another.

If you are looking for a place of worship in Juneau or are just passing by, we would love to have you visit!
